I’ve seen mirrors like this for £250 and this one was £90. Think of the mirror selfies.. 🙊
Today, I not only pray for London, I prey for the world.
Sadly, praying does not fix the problem. There have been 3 incidents in the past 3 months and as much as we unite together and stand strong, poor innocent people are still getting slaughtered for nothing but hate.
In the news, they say that a way to prevent terrorist attacks is by use of better intelligence. I’m not sure how much of that I believe. I believe that if people are known as a threat, quicker action should be taken but can every single person in Europe or even the worlds intentions be monitored? People were attacked with knives, cars and man made nail bombs – things that any human being can get their hands on. How can that be prevented?
People are afraid to live their lives, preparing for the next incident and hoping they are not in the wrong place at the wrong time. Scared of exposing children’s innocent minds to the dark reality. Why should we live in fear? My heart breaks and I feel anger and sadness.
The general election results will be interesting, to see how the politicians retaliate and whether that will do more harm than good. Are these extremists reacting to the wars that are happening in countries like Syria where attacks like this occur every day killing innocent people. Why can’t people see that hate, revenge and violence only make things worse? It feels like a cruel game between multiple parties and innocent people are getting caught in the crossfire.
It’s such a clique but a true one at that. If people around the world learned to love each other then there would be no evil.
Today I pray for mess we call the world and hope one day we will find peace.
Ever feel like you are constantly waiting?
Waiting for 5pm every day, waiting for the weekend to begin, counting down the days until your holiday?
Mondays are going back to reality after a perfect weekend of doing what you enjoy most and work is just something that pays the bills right?
If you feel that way about your job, rethink what you are doing. We spend on average 67% of our week in work that’s not including commuting time either! To spend so much time doing something you do not enjoy is a waste. Instead, find out what you are good at and what you enjoy and make yourself a career out of it.
If money is your only vision, you will never be rich. People may have a different view on what it is to be truly rich but I strongly believe it is the people in your life and the memories you make is something you cannot put a price tag on. Having ambition and goals in your career is truly inspiring and people who work hard get fantastic rewards. My only advice is not to make your career your life.
To have a clean diet gives you a clear mind, body and soul. Your diet is so important for your health and brain function. I’m a big believer that good nutrition can heal absolutely anything and play a big role in the way you act.
If change presents itself, embrace it. See change as an opportunity rather than something negative. There’s a saying that ‘if we always do what we have always done, we will get what we have always got’. Welcome change with open arms and embrace it, take on the challenge and you may be presently surprised with the outcome.
Live like tomorrow may never come. That phrase is the biggest cliche but also the truest. We don’t actually know what is around the corner and we always think we have time but the truth is we don’t. While it’s good to have long term goals, do not make them your only goals. You can live spontaneously and still be responsible. Let go of anger and frustration and be positive there’s no time to waste being unhappy.
I hope this helps you in some way. If I can inspire one person then my job is done. Please see similar posts BeautyBlossom Blog 😊
Want to do things in the summer but money is tight? Hopefully these tips will help!
- Flash deals – Wowcher is a great website to find deals for a 2-3 day city break, afternoon tea bookings and so much more! Make sure to book the deal early to lock in the dates you want!
- Airbnb – you can get fantastic deals for beautiful accommodations around the world with Airbnb from renting a room to renting a whole house, villa or apartment I would seriously reccomend booking with airbnb!
- Tesco Clubcard – did you know you can go for meals, holidays and days out with Tesco Clubcard? They have over 400 partners around the U.K. Where you can turn your everyday shopping into a meal at PizzaExpress or a day at West Midlands safari park! Treating your family this summer couldn’t be cheaper! All you need is a Clubcard.
- Get cashback on usual spending – Top cashback offers so many different cashback on in-store and online retail purchases, you could be saving 100’s! Visit them now and get saving.
- Avoid temptation – do you really need a new swimsuit or can you reuse last years bikini? Avoid temptation of shopping when you don’t need anything. Trust me, it makes a difference!
- Save as you spend – websites like topcashback and quidco means that you can spend online or in a store but get cash back by going through their channels. Win win!
- Have a no-spend day – lock yourself in your house once a week and binge watch Netflix and do not order a takeaway or spend a penny! Doing this at least once a week can make a big difference in your wallet.
- Switch banks for a cash bonus – this sounds like hassle, but actually really easy as the banks arrange everything. Some banks can pay up to £200 to switch current accounts to them. Visit Martin Lewis money saving expert for an up to date list of banks offering cash to switch.
- Change your mindset – finally, the best way to change your life is to change your mindset. Even when I have plenty of money, I tell myself that I need to budget. By always budgeting your money you can take control of your finances. Also like I mentioned earlier, using the question “do I really need that?” Before making a purchase and maybe think of what that money could buy you instead which makes a difference long term (that £50 top could go towards a holiday instead etc).
I hope this helps! It would be great to hear your money saving tips as I am always looking for new ideas to use myself 🙂

My favourite series at the moment! Currently 3 seasons on Netflix (season 4 out this summer!) about a New York businessman who moonlights as a drug distributor. Very exciting program that leaves you needing to watch another episode each time.
13 reasons why
A deep American drama about a teenage girl who commits suicide and leaves tapes describing the moments leading up to her death and why she did it.
Really deep but worth a watch , it begins as a ‘typical high school’ series but if you continue to watch it gets really deep and hooks you in. Also it is really relatable to cliques of people in school and opens your mind to how people treat each other can have a big effect.
Prison break is about two brothers, one is sent to prison in death row for a murder that he was framed for. The other brother gets himself sent to prison and attempts to save his brother by breaking them out of prison. Full of exciting cliff hangers.. I completed all 4 seasons in 6 days it was that good! Season 5 is out now too!
Family’s have a free trip to Benidorm and the series shows the antics they get up to. If your looking for something entertaining and hilarious, you need to watch Benidorm!
I like the idea of doing something different or something a little on the quirky side so for me, this was perfect. The igloos had been fully booked until the end of April (which is when they were up until) and you could only visit on the day and wait for a free table in an igloo if you were lucky. Luckily for me there must have been a cancellation when I went online and managed to book a table for myself and my partner.
The food was lovely, not too pricey and a great selection on the menu. I’m basic when it comes to ordering!
For starters I had crispy fried truffled gnocchi which was absolutely insane! A margarita pizza for main and lemony ricotta cheesecake for dessert 😍
The igloos themselves were lovely however, there were 3 tables crammed inside ours leaving little space so it was pretty crowded. I feel we went at the right time and had the right weather as between 7-9pm was still light but had the sunset overlooking tower bridge which was a beautiful setting and the weather was quite nice – rain would have spoilt it. Inside the restaurant also looked fresh and classy.
Overall it was a lovely evening and a pretty setting, if your looking for nice food in London that doesn’t break the bank I would recommend the coppa club restaurant.

Pillows are used pretty much every night. Over time, pillows lose their bounce which can cause problems for your neck.
– 6 years
Slippers are like heaven on your feet but to be fair, 6 years is a long time to have the same slippers anyway!
– 2 weeks
Sponges absorb all the bacteria when cleaning. After two weeks of using, throw it away and buy a new one to avoid re-spreading bacteria.
– 6 months
Similar to a sponge but does not absorb as quickly. Anything that you use to clean yourself should be changed regularly.
– 1-3 years
Did you know that one of the most germ infested products in your house could be your towels? Swap your towels within 1-3 years when washing your towels, use a higher heat setting to kill bacteria.
– 3 months
A typical human mouth contains billions of bacteria, and if you haven’t brushed your teeth lately, you might have more bacteria in your mouth right now than there are people living on planet Earth! All that bacteria also lives on your toothbrush! Every 3 months, swap your toothbrush or the head to the electrical toothbrush for a new one.
– 3 months
After opening, hydrogen peroxide becomes ineffective after 3 months.
– 1 year
Notice the trend where there is a build up of bacteria? Well, like your body, your hair gets dirty too. Which can get built up in your hairbrush. Swap after 1 year.
– 1-3 years
Perfume scent goes off after 3 years. So within 1-3 years if your perfume smells different it means it has expired.
– 2-5 weeks
Keeping your babies safe is one of the most important things in the world. Like toothbrushes, dummies can absorb bacteria so throw away after 5 weeks.
Child car seats
– 6-10 years
‘Hand me downs’ are great! But if a car seat is over 10 years old, this could be unsafe for your child and also uncomfortable. Rules and regulations also tend to change over the years.
– 1-2 years
Another item that is used daily and the underwire can become loose and break free meaning breasts will not be supported correctly.
– 1 year
– 3 years
All good food comes to an end. Spices last longer than fresh food but expires after 3 years.
– 11 months
Opened flour expires after 11 months. If you have any hiding at the back of your cupboard from 2001, throw it away now!!😁
– 15 years
For safety reasons (hopefully you will never be in the position to use this) but if you have had it for over 15 years, there’s a chance it may not be as effective.
– 1-2 years
Anything electric ends up breaking. But power cables can be the source for power for multiple different items which can put a strain on it. To prevent putting yourself at risk, throw away after 2 years.
– 3 months
Disinfectant becomes ineffective after 3 months after opening. To maintain a clean home, use within 3 months.

Have you ever felt like you’re a little lost in life? Not sure of your purpose or what you want to do or where you’re even going?
For the majority of my adult life I have felt lost. Don’t get me wrong, there’s always things we know we want like a new car, more money, exotic holidays etc. But realistically, can we all honestly say that we know exactly what we want with no going back or changing our minds? There are people who have had their objective from ‘day one’ and have been chasing their dream ever since. I always looked at those people in frustration, wondering why has everyone else got their shit together and not me?
The feeling of want and negativity took over and instead of doing something about it, I sat in self pity and thought to myself “why can’t that be me?”. I had the complete wrong perspective on this and after a few hundred times of repeating this to myself it just clicked. I wanted all these things to be proud of, but what have I done to achieve it? I realized that I was looking at everything wrong, this could be me! This was where I decided to make a change.
Start thinking about your strengths
Start thinking about what you enjoy, what you are good at and how you make a difference. By identifying your strengths and visually looking at them, you automatically feel empowered and can begin to make a decision on what you want to do.
If you’re like me and do not like to talk highly of yourself, this list may be harder to write whereas creating a list of weaknesses is easier to write. Try and be honest with yourself and take your time. Here are the three I came up with:
- Compassion to others – animal lover and the welfare of animals, vegetarian
- Helping people – whether that’s helping friends, family or colleagues when they are in need or giving tips to make their lives a little easier
- Great listener – If someone has a problem, I care. I will put my feelings aside to listen to someones – sometimes for hours on end and really help as much as I can
From looking at my list, it clearly shows I like to help people and animals. I began to think about what I could do to follow my passion as well as my strengths.
Firstly, I began this blog. Writing mostly tips about mostly household, mental health, money and beauty from personal experiences. I believe if my tips can be useful to another person, then my work here is done.
I decided to volunteer at an animal shelter, making myself as useful as possible by cleaning, walking the dogs and playing with the cats!
Stay in your own lane
Once you have set your goals or made small changes, remember to be happy for others success, but do not measure yourself against them. Stay focused on your goals and follow them at your realistic pace.
Careers are great, but is that what really matters?
Building your career and climbing the company ladder can be really fulfilling. If this is something you are interesting on doing, that’s fantastic! It’s great to have ambition to rise and improve but there is a saying that follows me wherever I go: “When you die, they say you look back over your life. Do you only want to look back at your career?”
I guess this is debatable as every person is different. I know people who want nice things therefore they work so hard to get them and it is so well deserved.
My take on it is that people and memories make your life. Memories are what you will always carry with you, your family and friends will always be there for you. But of course, that’s someone who loves to travel and make those type of memories. Again, everyone is different and it depends on what really matters to you, it’s a personal thing that only you can answer. And when you do, as long as you are doing what matters to you, that’s all that matters!
Be realistic and look to improve yourself
There is always room for improvement. If you are as self judgmental as I am, I’m sure that you already know this. It’s really hard to stop being so hard on yourself.
Write a list of the things you feel that you need to improve on, this could be anything, then get someone you trust to be honest to read over it. This may be a close friend, partner, family member, mentor or your manager – someone who cares enough to add to the list or question why you have selected certain areas to improve.
Remember that we are our own biggest critics and our own ego’s can get the better of us by letting us think we are worse than we are or that people read too much into what we do ‘wrong’ when in reality, most people don’t read into that at all. Think about it, if someone makes a mistake in work and gets the wrong word in a sentence do you think “what an idiot they don’t know what they are talking about” – very unlikely. It’s our mind-talk that makes us dwell on our own mistakes and insecurities.
Keep striving forward. Don’t look back
Only look back to see how far you have come – and that’s it. Keep yourself motivated by setting short term goals that push you a step closer to achieving your end goal.
Have ambition, but be appreciative of what you have
Wanting what you don’t have can lead to unhappiness. Sadly, I see this a lot in people. While being ambition is amazing, it means you are motivated and working to better yourself and your life, you need the right balance of ‘want’ and ‘already have’.
In your lifetime, have you ever heard your mother or father say “Eat your food, there are people in the world that are hungry and are not as lucky as you!”
Its so true! We have all been ungrateful in our lives. People (maybe not everyone, but generally speaking..) throw away left over food, have change in their pocket but walk past someone in need of spare change, see an awful story on the news, feel bad and then carry on with our day etc. While we can’t change what is happening in the world, we can be more compassionate and appreciate how lucky we are.
You may want to buy your own home and are frustrated because you can’t yet afford the deposit and have to save for an extra year – at least you have a home to go to.
I could give so many examples but you already know. I read somewhere that if you have food in the cupboards, a bed to sleep in, clothes on your back and are well enough to get out of bed and go to work every day, you are richer than 75% of the world. Let that sink in.
Another household product that has many purposes other than what it is known for. Baking soda, also known has Bicarbonate of soda can be used for cleaning, personal care and for removing odors.
All these have been tried and tested by myself and I use these techniques weekly!
Exfoliating your skin
Once a week, I exfoliate my skin with bicarbonate of soda. This removes any bacteria from your skin giving you a fresh, clean feeling. Before using soap, simply exfoliate wet skin and rinse off.
Natural teeth whitener
Adding to your toothpaste can not only freshen your mouth but has been known to be a natural teeth whitener. If you look at the ingredients in most of the teeth whitening toothpastes, baking soda is usually included.
Treating irritated skin
Treat irritated skin by adding a small amount to wet skin and gently massage into the skin.
Remove body odor
If you do a lot of exercise or over-perspire in warm conditions, sometimes washing under your arms doesn’t do the trick, leaving an unpleasant odor. By rubbing bicarbonate of soda under your arms before washing, this removes the build up of bacteria and odor.
When washing your hair, add to shampoo for amazing results. Bicarbonate of soda removes the build up of product and residue in your hair leaving you with visibly cleaner hair.
Add a table spoon to warm water and allow your dishes to soak for 10 minutes. Wash with washing up liquid as normal.
Remove odor from fridge
When I went on holiday my fridge freezer broke, melting all the food inside. As you can imagine, when returning 2 weeks later the odor was absolutely foul! After cleaning the fridge, I could not get rid of the strong smell. It was so bad that I could not have fresh food because the food would smell bad!!
I was told to put bicarbonate of soda in a cup and leave in the fridge within 2 days, the smell had reduced significantly! I’ve recently had a new fridge freezer and continue to do this to keep it smelling fresh 🙂
Living in London means that we are unfortunate enough to have limescale left on cutlery and our sink. Every Saturday, I clean the sink with warm water and scrub with bicarbonate of soda, which lifts the limescale and leaves my cutlery and sink shiny!
Cleaning the floor
Add two spoonfuls to your mop and bucket water to lift tough dirt and grime on your floor!
Remove bin odor
If your inside or outside bin is smelling worse than usual, sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda directly in the bin. This will absorb the odor!
Remove drain odor
Noticing the trend? Bicarbonate of soda removes pretty much any odor! Tip a little down the sink and turn the hot water tap on to clear the pipes.
Use as a dehumidifier
Rather than buying a dehumidifier, why not put a cup of bicarbonate of soda in the damp area? This absorbs the humidified air reducing the appearance of damp.

I have always been told to never rely on one income. I used to think to get a second income you had to jump on the property ladder. That is a great way however, that requires a lot of money in the first place! So here are a few ways to earn some extra cash!
Selling on eBay
eBay is a goldmine. Your old tat can be someone else’s treasure!
Anything from clothes, electrical items, crafts to home accessories sell well and if you market it right (taking decent pictures and write a good description) your items are very likely to go for a decent price.
TIP: schedule your listing for 7pm on a Thursday evening for 10 days meaning it will end on Sunday at 7pm. This is the perfect time as most people browse the Internet during their ‘down time’ on Sundays.
If your creative or have the patience to learn, you can make something and sell it on etsy, eBay or even through Facebook and Instagram!
People LOVE crafts as they can be unique and make the perfect gifts.
Invest in yourself
Why not take a short course and use that new skill to set up your own mini business?
Wowcher have a range of courses for cheap where you can learn a new skill from make up to excel courses.
Why not make money from your computer and complete online surveys for cash. Websites like Swagbucks and Surveybods are legitimate survey websites.
The only downfall to this is that they can be pretty time consuming and can take a few hours to get earn enough money to withdraw. But if you at home on the laptop anyway it’s definitely worth a go!
